Take Thyme for You this Holiday

The holiday season means different things to different people. Some revel in all its glory, some are stressed by it and some are saddened by it.

Self-Care for the Holidays

No matter what you're experience is with this time of year, it's important to find time for YOU. Here's some things to help keep you in the holiday spirit.

First, we want to share a recipe for healing those nasty coughs that everybody seems to get lately at the end of this latest cold virus that wreaks havoc on your throat and lungs (let alone rendering us incapacitated in the midst of a coughing fit!) It worked for me when nothing else did!

Tida's Thyme Tea

Hot water

Lemon

Honey

Fresh Thyme (1-2 sprigs) - This is the magic ingredient!

Second, develop your own affirmation to help you achieve the person you want to become.

So, for example mine is:

I am brave

I am strong

I am wise

I am loveable

I am enough

Those are all values I aspire to be. I mostly say it to myself at the end of my meditation when my mind is calm and clear. Sometimes I say it out loud when I need the confidence, such as when I'm driving to an important meeting where I have to give a presentation. What we put our attention to grows, so say it enough and you'll begin to believe it.

Third, choose love. We get to choose our thoughts. Yes, thoughts will randomly come to you, but thoughts lead to behavior. If your thoughts are causing you to feel anger or resentment towards someone, then your brain will keep playing that tape over and over again. But you have the power to change your thinking.

Instead, say to yourself, "I choose love." That means loving yourself and others. Then, reach out and call the people in your life who you care about and let them know how much they mean to you. There isn't a better gift for the holidays than making someone else feel loved and validated.

The best things in life are truly free.

Tida and I would like to take this moment to wish you a beautiful holiday season filled with warmth, love, peace, tons of comfort food and big hugs from people you care about.

Have a happy holidays! See you in 2020!
