Mindfulness in Motion for Youth and Those Who Serve Them
Meet our Live Free Yoga Teachers
I am a 500-hr ERYT and hold an MBA. I've been teaching Yoga full time for the last 15 years in many capacities including adults, youth of all ages, at-risk youth, public and private schools. My mission in life is to bring balance and harmony to our youth to pave the way for a better future.
I received my Yoga Teacher Certification 200-hr in 2006. Until recently, my "day job" was in broadcast journalism and media. I am now following my passion full time to teach and empower the youth of of today to use mindfulness tools to create a clearer and calmer path for themselves throughout their lives.
I left my job as a middle school teacher and received my 500-hr Yoga Teacher certification in 2011. Teaching teenagers the simplicity of mindful breathing and self-awareness is such a rewarding experience. Knowing that we are helping teens learn how to deal with daily stresses and think beyond the here-and-now has allowed me a chance to step back and look at my own life. I find pause and take a breathe before I quickly respond in anger. I notice if I take a few minutes to sit and focus that I face the world with a kinder heart and more awareness for others.
Live Free Yoga Teacher,
Training Assistant, Social Media Assistant
I received my Yoga Teacher 200-hour in Oct 2016. I am a Dallas native and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in biology. I grew up around organized team sports, which all began with football. I later found myself desiring to push my mental and physical boundaries, so I trained and competed in the Tough Mudder and Spartan Race challenges. Today, I'm an aspiring actor and now teach AcroYoga + Yoga. Yoga is the relationship that connects the body, mind and breath. I want to help create a space that's free from the obstacles and expectations that we've created within ourselves. And my aim is helping others, adults and youth, to find this release in yoga, so that they can begin living a better quality of life.
