The Courage to Be Who You Were Born to Be

I have interviewed hundreds of people in my "previous life" as a television/radio producer, reporter, and podcast host, but rarely have I been as moved and inspired by these two men, Jordan Held, LCSW (he/him), and Beck Gee-Cohen, MA, CADC II (he/him). Both are transgender men and gender specialists at the Visions Adolescent Treatment Center in Los Angeles who counsel gender and sexual minority youth suffering from PTSD and trauma.

These international speakers educate people on gender identity issues. In our conversation, we explore the challenges and suffering of transgender youth in school, at home, and in the community as well as the beauty beyond the transition to a gender different than what they were born with.

Open your Brave Heart and find out how you can support these fragile young people with respect, love, inclusivity, and equality in all aspects of their lives, so they can be the person they know they were born to be.

If you would like more information or support regarding gender identity and youth, email

Jordan Held at Jheld@visionteen.com or Beck Gee-Cohen at bgcohen@visionteen.com or visit visionsteen.com.
